Become a Donkey Custodian

By submitting this form I accept that certain information pertaining to the Donkey and Mule Protection Trust NZ may be confidential in nature and that I agree I am to use discretion in discussing policies, current cases and other related issues with others. I have read, understand, and agree to adhere to this statement.

By submitting this form, I understand and agree to the following: That I am applying to become a custodian of a donkey from The Donkey and Mule Protection Trust NZ (hereinafter referred to as the Trust). I understand that I must complete the application procedure and have my property inspected and approved before being allowed to rehome a donkey from the Trust. I understand that I may not be able to become a custodian of the specific donkey I am interested in for various reasons. In addition, I understand that the Trust may perform a background check to verify my personal information as well as check for any criminal convictions. I understand that I must submit a complete form before being considered as an applicant. I understand that if I become a custodian, I will be subject to follow up visits by a representative of the Trust. I also understand that I may never sell, give away, lease out, send to slaughter, etc. the said donkey, I also understand that I may never use the donkey for breeding purposes. I also agree the Trust is not liable in the event of injury, death or damage to any human, animal or property as a result of activities or actions of the said donkey. I further agree to accept all responsibility for any action resulting from any action, directly or indirectly involving said donkey while it is in my care. Therefore, I agree and understand that neither The Donkey and Mule Protection Trust NZ, nor its representatives will be liable for any damages or injury caused to me or any third person by the donkey once I receive delivery of it, including but not limited to damages or injuries caused by the fact that the donkey does not behave or perform in the manner I expected. Further, if any third person makes a claim against The Donkey and Mule Protection Trust NZ or any of its representatives as a result of any conduct of the donkey(s) in my possession, I agree to indemnify and hold The Donkey and Mule Protection Trust NZ and its representatives harmless from any such claim, including costs and legal fee resulting from such claim. Every effort has been made by the Trust to disclose the history of these donkeys as known by the Trust. I acknowledge that in some circumstances, the Trust may have little or no knowledge about the donkey’s prior life or training. The Trust undertakes to tell me everything known about the donkey however the Trust makes no guarantees about a donkey’s temperament or training, and recommends that a custodian gets a vet check once taking possession of the donkey.
